New Challenge for November

Is it me? Or did October just come and go really fast? Any who, November is right around the corner and it’s time for a new challenge. Every month, I challenge myself to do something new or something that I need to improve on. The challenge for this month is to wake up at 6:00 AM everyday consistently, which is 2 hours earlier than when I usually wake up. Maybe I’ll give myself cheat days to sleep in on the weekend.

Let me explain. If you’re anything like me, you know the struggle of waking up in the morning. I have never been a morning person. I despise waking up early, but I also know that waking up early has its benefits including increased productivity, positive mindset, stress reduction, sense of clarity, and a bunch more. My usual routine in the morning, especially since I’ve been working remote, is to get up between 8-8:30 AM, which gives me no time, but to shower and maybe cook breakfast before I have to log on to work at 9:00 AM.

My goals for this new challenge are to remain consistent and disciplined, change my mindset around waking up early, feel better and more prepared to take on the day, increase my productivity and the amount of tasks I get done in the day, and gain more time to meditate.

This challenge is going to be very uncomfortable for me as it is completely different from my regular routine. Through this challenge, I plan to remain disciplined and consistent throughout this month as the ultimate goal is to make waking up at 6am a regular part of my morning routine, even after November ends.

I’ve never been a fan of waking up early, so one of my goals for this challenge is to find the joy and appreciation in waking up early and experiencing all of the benefits that come from it.

When I wake up early, I feel more optimistic and prepared for what the day holds because I get to have an early start. Through this challenge, I want to be able to feel that feeling every day that I am in control of how my day will go.

In waking up early, I find that I feel more productive and accomplishing more tasks. So not only am I getting more things done throughout the day, but I feel good doing them. Through this challenge, I want to increase my productivity and get a lot more accomplished.

Lastly, I want to spend more time with God. In my current routine, I don’t have much time to meditate, read scripture or pray and I want to spend more time doing those things. I am a huge woman of faith and I believe that if I don’t start and end my day with God, then my day is off. Through this challenge, I want to spend more time meditating in the morning and starting my day with God and a positive mantra.
