I really can’t believe we’ve got two more weeks in October. This has been the longest, but shortest year I’ve ever experienced in my life! Nevertheless, I am excited for what the remaining two weeks of October and the rest of the year has in store.
We are in the last home stretch of 2020, but now is not that time to relax on your goals. If you’re anything like me, you have marked off a few of your goals and/or are still working towards those goals you haven’t quite completed yet. Now is the perfect time to set what I call “ROY goals”, or Rest Of the Year goals. Think BIG. Go out with a BANG!
Here are 3 of my ROY goals for the last home stretch of 2020: ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 1. Rebrand my Instagram and build my following. During this time of quarantining with limited ability to travel and go places, I've done some soul searching and figuring out what I want my brand to stand for and what I want people to take away from my content. Brainstorming, researching and writing down my ideas has helped me to nail down my brand niche and create content that will be useful for my audiences. With that being said, I am rebranding my Instagram using a new strategy and new content to build my following. I plan to be more consistent, intentional and organized with my content.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 2. Secure a brand partnership by the end of the year. Creating an additional stream of income is another goal of mine for this year. Now that I have identified my brand niche and target audience, I understand what type of content and messages resonate with my audience the most. Understanding my target audience and what resonates with them is important when choosing and securing a brand partnership. As I continue to build my brand and my social media following, I plan to start pitching to prospective companies and brands in hopes of securing a brand partnership.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 3. Land another major hosting gig before the year is over. In September, I had the pleasure of hosting the Turn Up & Turn Out The Vote Virtual Bus Tour Kickoff with Senator Kamala Harris. During the event I got to speak with Senator Kamala Harris, Congressman GK Butterfield, Congresswoman Alma Adams, and singer Anthony Hamilton amongst many others on the importance of voting in this year’s election. Hosting is one of my true passions and as I continue to build my brand, I hope to land another major hosting gig before this year is over.
