After 3 years of marriage, the Be Careful rapper, Cardi B, whose real name is Becalis Marlenis Almánzar, filed for divorce from Migos rapper, Offset, whose real name is Kiari Kendrell Cephus.
A few days after the news broke and rumors started circulating, Cardi B took to Instagram Live to address the rumors and set the record straight about why she filed for divorce, explaining that “nothing crazy” happened and she “got tired of fu**ing arguing.” Contrary to popular belief, Cardi B claimed that infidelity is not the reason she filed for divorce from husband, Offset.
“Every single time that this guy has been so crazy, so f**ked up and it hits the media, I'm always crying, always sad because I don't like that type of sh*t," Cardi explained. "This time, I wasn't crying. You want to know why? The reason for my divorce is not because of none of that sh*t that ever happened before. It's not because of cheating.”
She continued, "I just got tired of f**king arguing. I got tired of not seeing things eye to eye. When you feel like it's just not the same anymore, before you actually get cheated on, I'd rather just leave."
Considering we’ve seen Offset involved in several cheating scandals, whether confirmed or not, it’s difficult to believe that cheating is not the reason Cardi is divorcing Offset. In an interview with Elle, she did admit that her relationship with Offset “has a lot of drama and everything” but also admitted that “there’s a lot of love, there’s a lot of passion, there’s a lot of trust, there’s a big friendship.” Regardless if Offset has been unfaithful or not, Cardi has to make the decision as to when she’s fed up with the drama that her relationship brings. It’s easy to judge from the outside looking in, but as long as women believe their relationship is worth fighting for, in spite of the drama and heartache that she goes through, then that’s all that matters.
It seems Cardi is doing what’s best for her and putting herself before the drama this time around and I’m happy for her.
